If you’re getting ready for a wax, one of the most common questions is: How long does my hair need to be before waxing?
The short answer? About ¼ inch long — or roughly the length of a grain of rice.

Why Does Hair Length Matter for Waxing?
Wax needs enough hair to grab onto.
If the hair is too short, the wax may not be able to remove it from the root. This can leave you with patches of shorter hairs even after your appointment.
Waiting for enough growth helps your waxer remove more hair and gives you a smoother result.
Should I Trim Before My Wax?
No! Please don’t trim before your appointment.
It is much easier for your waxer to work with hair that is a little too long than hair that has been cut too short.
Leave the trimming to us if it is necessary.
How Long Should I Stop Shaving Before a Brazilian Wax?
For a Brazilian wax, we recommend at least 3 weeks without shaving before your appointment.
If you have been shaving regularly, remember that your hair may be growing in different cycles.
That means your first wax may not remove every tiny hair.
Consistency matters.
After a few regular waxing appointments, your hair growth can become more synchronized and your results may last longer.
How Should I Prepare for My Wax?
A few simple things can make your appointment easier:
Stop shaving at least 3 weeks before your appointment.
Do not trim the hair.
Gently exfoliate 2–3 times per week.
Avoid aggressive scrubs or exfoliation right before your appointment.
